I am writing a manuscript titled”Wake up with God” and I am using some of the lines in this song. That I remember from long ago.it is amazing what God can do!
One teary morning I dropped my rebellious thirteen year old son off at Christian school. He had been spewing hurtful, venomous verbal assaults for the whole half hour drive. Songtime was on the radio, and this little song came on. I listened, and felt Jesus telling me to turn off the radio and praise Him. I started out singing it slowly through my tears, not feeling ANY joy. But I kept it up and by the time I got to work I felt God’s arms hugging me and felt such comfort, love, and peace. That little song is powerful. It truly AMAZING what praising can do! He inhabits our praises!
I recall that this song was written by Bernard Lodge … he was a Salvation Army officer who retired from the Central Territory in the early 1980s and during retirement was living in Evanston Illinois. It is a shame that this song is all over Internet and his name does not appear!
Please tell me the author of, ” It’s Amazing What Praising Can Do”.
One of my clients would like permission to quote it in her book of which I am the copy editor. I thank you

These are some of the songs we've learned and compiled over the years while being involved in the Bus Ministry and other children's ministries at Old Time Baptist Church in Buffalo, NY.
A few lines here or there are our own original lyrics, but most of the content here is a compilation of songs written by other people. The chords you see when you click on a "Show chords" button are the same ones we use, and my differ somewhat from whatever the original authors intended.
If you have any requests for children's songs that are not included here, or if you'd like to request guitar chords or an audio sample for any song, please feel free to contact us by leaving a comment on any page.
