Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Every burden of my heart rolled away.
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Every burden of my heart rolled away.
Every sin had to go,
Neath the crimson flow, HALLELUJAH!
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Every burden of my heart rolled away.

Well if u were worried about copyright , none wouldve been able to sing this ! Please give attention to God more than man or the ‘copyright’ buisiness that’s in the songs of gospel .

I know the Malayalam translation of this

Neengi poy Neengi poy Neegngi poy
En papa bhaaram aakave Neegi poy
    Sarva papangalum yesuvin rakthathaal
Neengi poy Neengi poy Neegngi poy

    Amy says:

Growing up, I knew the second verse as:
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Lo’ the stone has from the tomb, rolled away.
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Lo’ the stone has from the tomb rolled away.
    And the angel said,
“He has risen from the dead!” Hallelujah!
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
Lo’ the stone has from the tomb rolled away.

    I have two more verses
    2 Calvary, Calvary, Calvary
it’s the hill that’s near Jerusalem
    Calvary, Calvary, Calvary
where my Saviour paid the price for me
    every sin had to go
    ‘neath the cleansing flow
rolled away, rolled away, rolled away
where my Saviour paid the price for me

3 praise the Lord O my soul praise the Lord
its the way to God’s Jerusalem
praise the Lord O my soul praise the Lord
its my way to God’s Jerusalem
    every sin had to go
    ‘neath the cleansing flow
rolled away, rolled away, rolled away
its my way to God’s Jerusalem

Love these extra verses, especially of the stone being rolled away. The song came to mind when reading Joshua 5:9 😊 “This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you.”

    Charles Burkitt says:

I hesitate to post this because I know the vagaries of memories from childhood. However, I grew up singing a Japanese version of this song along with my seven siblings. It was the one thing my dad brought back from his deployment to Japan just as the Korean War was winding down that has survived the ravages of time. I don’t know Japanese. I can only write what we sang phonetically as it sounded to me when I was a child. It went like this:
Yuki nu, yuki nu, yuki nu
Koko rona ah maniwa yuki nu
Yuki nu, yuki nu, yuki nu
Koko rona ah maniwa yuki nu
    Sumi wa sari nu
    Chi-chi ah minota mi, hallelujah
Yuki nu, yuki nu, yuki nu
Koko rona ah maniwa yuki nu

I’ve been singing this song since I was a little child 😍 there’s no doubt that’s one of my favourites… now that I’m grown up I’ve taught them to my sunday school students and also to my own kids. And I love it! Because here in Brazil the ‘gesture’ kids make while singing the song is: rolling two arms/hands in front of the chest over and over again (I’m not sure if I could make myself comprehensible… I’m sorry… 😁).

But anyway brothers and sisters… here goes the portuguese version (and here it’s got only one verse, at least I’ve never heard of any others…☺☺☺):

Já rolou, já rolou, já rolou
Do sepulcro a grande pedra já rolou
Já rolou, já rolou, já rolou
Do sepulcro a grande pedra já rolou
    Meu Jesus ressurgiu
    Para o céu subiu. Aleluia!
Já rolou, já rolou, já rolou
Do sepulcro a grande pedra já rolou

    That would be something like…
Já rolou (it has already rolled away, referring to the tomb stone)
Do sepulcro a grande pedra já rolou ( the BIG stone has already rolled away from the tomb)
Meu Jesus ressurgiu ( my Jesus has risen)
Para o céu subiu ( He has risen/gone up to heaven)

    I just love English! 😃

I hope you guys enjoy it!

May God give us peace and grace.
