Oh Soldier
Oh Soldier, Oh O Soldier
Grab you Bibles Follow Me
I’m in the Lords Infantry
If I die on the combat zone
Wrap Me up and send me home
Lay my Bible across my chest
Tell my Lord I did my best
Oh Soldier, Oh O Soldier
Grab you Bibles Follow Me
I’m in the Lords Infantry
Everywhere we go
People want to know
Who we are
So we tell them
Were not the Army – The backpacking Army
Were not the Coast Guard – Even though we Work hard
Were not the Marines – The mighty Marines
We are the Bus Kids
The Mighty Mighty Bus kids
The Bible reading bus kids
The devil hating bus kids
Prayer Warrior
Oh Soldier, Oh O Soldier
Sound Off (they say 1 2)
Sound Off (they say 3 4)
Bring in on down (they say 1-2-3-4 1,2-3,4)
Oh sissy, Oh O Sissy
Grab your dollies follow me
We’re in mommies infantry
If I die in the playground zone
Wrap me up and send me home
Lay my dolly across my chest
Tell my mommy I did my best

Jim says:I appreciate the call to action in the song’s message but I would not teach these lyrics to children. I’m not comfortable making unkind remarks about our military.

George says:Thanks for the comment, but what’s unkind here? I’m thick headed FYI.

Amanda says:I leaned this song when I was a little girl, we sang it every Sunday on the church bus! This went went differently from when I leaned it. We didn’t downgrade the military or anything, we didn’t even mention the military! Good song but change up some things in it

Grace says:There’s nothing unkind about the military in there…it’s all true! They’re kids, not in the Army, Marines or Coast Guard. They’re BUS KIDS! Our bus kids LOVE it and we’re a VERY pro-military church and area. Thanks for the words! Had some lyrics I hadn’t heard before.

Brandi says:How is saying the mighty marines unkind to the marines???? Or the coast guard who works hard? Or the army that is so rough that the do drills with packs? It’s called o soldier. And when people ask who we are ( like what branch of the military or what army) we tell them we are not earthly soldiers but God’s soldiers. Get off your spiritual high horses and stop putting everything down.
Great song!! our kids at church love it!!!

Dwight Delaware says:Wow snowflakes toughen up, no insults are in this song, the highest calling is serving Christ, which laid his life down so others may live to be born of the Spirit and go to heaven, our great servicemen do mirror that idea in scripture the same by sacrifice of there life and risk for our physical life and Freedom. God bless the US Army, US Coast Guard, US Marines, US Navy and US Air force, but most of all Praise Jesus Christ!
